From Rome or Teramo:

Exit the A24 highway at the “L’Aquila Est” toll booth, take the highway (Superstrada) towards Pescara, continue along the SS. 17 dir. towards Pescara, and pass the Bazzano industrial area. In San Gregorio, turn slightly right onto the SS. 261 towards San Demetrio Né Vestini / Grotte di Stiffe. After about 2 km, turn right towards Fossa and proceed until you reach Fossa Osteria, then turn left onto Via Aveja and follow the signs for Monastero Fortezza di S. Spirito.

From Pescara:

Exit the A25 highway at the Bussi toll booth and drive for about 30 km along the S.S.17 towards L’Aquila. In San Gregorio, turn left towards San Demetrio Né Vestini, then follow directions for Fossa. Once you reach Fossa Osteria, turn left onto Via Aveja and follow the signs for the Monastero.
